Hey beautiful people! WOW I know I have been so MIA since I have last posted. I apologize for that! Basically life has been crazy in every way since graduation. I find myself at the throne of the Lord with my hands spread out just desperate for Him with my next steps. So many options, not much clarity at the moment! I have applied for different jobs, but also a part of my heart would love to move away for a couple of years and do mission work somewhere. Im not sure if I am supposed to do that before or after I have a family though! But this is good- this keeps me literally RUNNING to the Lord every second of the day. This is a totally new spiritual muscle I have been having to exercise! Like TRUE faith. My entire life I have known my next steps, you know? Like elementary school, middle school, high school, college… then.. uhhh! IM A FREE BIRD! It feels awesome at times and scary at other times! I know the Lord has it ALL planned out..and Ive really been testing on that lately! I am so guilty of making my own plans in my head!! I have so many friends getting married and engaged so of course I think that’s my next step – but the other day the Lord was like “what if that’s not your next step, Katie?! What if I have a different plan for them than I do you?” and I was like DANG I am so dumb sometimes! He just told me to stop, rest with Him, feel His embrace, and LOVE Him and LOVE people, and He has got every single piece of my future. So that’s where I am right now! He is such a good Dad- seriously. I cant even fathom how powerful His Holy Spirit is sometimes!! It LIVES in side of us- we have that same authority! That’s crazy, right?! CRAZY AWESOME!!!
And seriously go read Psalm 139 and you cant tell me God doesn’t have a MAJOR plan for each of you!! He LONGS to know you and be intimate with you! Seriously!! We can go to church and bible studies all we want, but if we are not intimate with the Father, we are missing out!
Fitness wise- Wheww that has totally changed over the past few months!! I have still been working out some, but not NEARLY as hardcore. It feels awesome actually! Knowing I have all my fountains in the Lord doesn’t “drive” me to work out an insane amount or EVER put working out before something important! But I know I need to take care of my body, so a little working out here and there feels AWESOME! Its crazy how much that part of my life has changed in such a short amount of time!! It wasn’t until I was able to see myself the way the Lord sees me that I didn’t feel the need to work out to the extreme. And honestly, all this rest has made my muscles look way better.. haha! Just a cool bonus and cool testimony of how the Lord REALLY does take care of us when we put Him first! FREEDOM!!

I had to get a minor surgery done this past Friday so I am kind of out of commission at the moment BUT its been awesome, the Lord did SO MANY COOL THINGS through it! So many cool conversations with the nurses, doctors, my family, my friends. His glory can shine anywhere and everywhere. I am thankful!! So I have been enjoying LOTS of yogurt the past few days, LOVING CHOBANI!!

Favorite ways to eat Chobani

2% plain mixed with 1 tbsp of coconut flour and vanilla extract with a little bit of vanilla almond milk and freeze for an hour

Vanilla mixed with cocoa powder and 1 tbsp of coconut four and coconut extract and freeze for an hour

Pineapple mixed with coconut extract

Plain mixed with 1/2 scoop of vanilla pea protein powder and almond butter (SO thick!)

Plain mixed with cottage cheese, peanut flour, butter extract, and stevia

Brown Rice or Quinoa bowls w. broccoli slaw, grilled chicken (marinated in buffalo sauce), goat cheese, roasted peppers, onions, topped with 1 fried egg/avocado/salsa.. SO GOOD!

TURKEY MUFFINS! I just mix up ground turkey with a little bit of egg beaters, oats, onions, peppers, feta cheese, and a TON of seasonings. Then i put em in mini muffin tins and bake them for about 20 min at 375!

Spinach oats! You just stick em in the blender with spinach and the oats turn green, promise you cant taste it!

Lifetime’s Life’s Basic plant protein- chocolate flavor.. SO GOOD!

Justins Almond Butter.. YUM

Flat out wraps- the honey flavor! Makes a good pizza crust, a little sweet and a little salty!

His Presence

Hey beautiful people! How are you all?? MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE! I seriously can NOT believe its already here. And thank you for all of your congrats on graduating- it still hasnt hit me, it feels so surreal!!

Oh man, I have been learning so much about the Lord lately. Mainly through being tested (funny how that happens!). I have learned that too often I base my expectations on what God is going to do through my emotions/what the world says about Him/what I think about Him.. when that is sooo off! Why would we base God off of what the world says about Him when we live in a culture that is totally contrary to God?! We need to base our expectations and believe in God on what SCRIPTURE says! That is eternal, our thoughts are not eternal and they are soo limited! Even if we dont “emotionally” feel it, we need to believe it. Because the bible says it. The bible says we have the SAME spirit inside of us that Jesus had when He walked this earth! Crazy, right? and its TRUE! It has taken me a while to grasp this. Sometimes I dont feel worthy and feel like I have to “earn” God’s presence.. but His presence is right here waiting for us to rest in 24/7.. we just have to open up and walk into it! Too many times we (talking to myself here!) get so busy and ask/ask/ask God stuff and dont even take time to be still in front of Him and resting in His presence. If we arent in His presence before we do ANYTHING, then we start to do things in our own strength.. and we cant do anything on our own!! I just finished this book called Compelled By Love.. YOU HAVE TO READ IT! It is SO GOOD! seriously rocked my flippin world, yall!It talks about how the poor (aka 3rd world countries) are SO desperate for Jesus, so they have SO much room in their hearts for the Holy Spirit to fill! Thats why so many miracles happen there. They truly believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, and they have no choice but to believe because they are so desperate! Aka miracles occur like healing/prophetic words/etcs! Jesus did all of that when He walked this earth! and we have that same power inside of us if we have the Holy Spirit inside of us, we have to truly BELIEVE it! Guys, I have seen the impossible being made possible over the past semester through the power of the Holy Spirit. He can do it for you to! Seriously, ask Him! He is on our team! He hears His children crying out to Him. God is begging to let His glory shine, we just have to constantly die to our flesh and be willing and open to do whatever He calls us to do!

WHOAAA! I am still working on truly believing in that quote!! Sometimes the enemy tells me opposite of what that quote says, but God says COME to me and let me give you gifts to use for my glory!! Oh man, WHAT A PROMISE!!!!!! We have such a cool heavenly home waiting for us!! I challenge you all to just take some time out to rest in His presence sometime soon, whether its putting your ipod on worship music and laying there or just reading the word or whatever! The more we practice resting in His presence, the more we will be doing it 24/7.

Love you all so much!! Praying for you all. Remember you are a child of the Lord, He made you so beautiful and unique. Tap into that Holy Spirit inside of you and watch the Lord blow yo mind for His kingdom!!

Hey loves! WOW I know I havent been around in forever- missing you all like crazy!! I have so much to share!! Oh my goodness!! I am also graduating from college in 6 days.. WHOAAA! Its so weird. Ill be back sometime soon over break to update you all. and of course I want updates on your lives too!!

Surrendering it All

HEY LOVES! Long time, no see, right?! I miss you all so much!! I feel so lead to post this tonight- WHATEVER God is calling you to surrender or give to Him.. DO IT!! He wants 100% of you. He is such a jealous God and does not want ANYTHING to come before Him or ANYTHING to bring you more pleasure than His presence. He has been so patient, loving, merciful towards me during these past seasons. I promise you, the freedom behind sacrificing what He is telling you to sacrifice, IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!! He didn’t create you to have ANY type of bondage. I promise He is such a good dad and will take care of you. Recently the Lord has told me to fast from working out for a bit, which is going to be tough, but I know He wants to make sure I am giving Him 100%, and this is ONLY for my good in the end. We have to give it ALL to Him so He cant trust us with BIGGER things, but more importantly, we give it ALL to Him because He is GOD and has already won the war! I would so appreciate all of your prayers. Just like a dad wants whats best for his kids, God wants that even MORE for us! FREEDOM is so sweet, yall!! DO IT, whatever He is telling you to do! He gets all the glory! And pray like He has already done it, because He will!!! Love you all so much!

Hey beautiful people! Long time, no see, right?! I am so sorry I keep going in and out of commission! First of all, you all need to go check out this awesome post by my sista. She is awesome and her and her husband are such a power team for the Lord. The post is so beautiful and sooo relatable. Do not believe satans lies!! Lately I have been really having to exercise my faith muscle in many different areas of my life. I watched a sermon on faith from Passion City Church and GEEZ it was so good! Louie (the pastor) talked about how our paths will always end with God because they started with God. Sometimes we have to take a leap of faith and then Lord comes through, but we should NOT fear, because it WILL end with God. He never ever leaves us. Never ever have I taken a leap of faith and God is like “ohhh dang… peace out!” haha uhhh that would suck! My life has changed SO much in the past year, geez, and some of the things I weren’t sure about a year ago are as clear as day now, and I can only thank God for that as He affirms things little by little. He knows my heart and knows if He layed everything out in front of me then I would def take it all for granted and it would be hard for me to have a gentle spirit about it. He is really really testing me right now about having faith and the future. Its so frustrating when He puts desires on your heart but they aren’t in your control!! Oh gosh! Sometimes you just have to sit back and practice patience. I guess its good to really learn this now rather than later! Anyway, so my encouragement to you all is that sometimes you have to step out in faith and obedience, and people may think you are a little crazy and say “oh man, they are stepping out on a limb!” but if you are saying the Creator of the Universe is a limb, then YES I am stepping onto it! Although I wouldn’t call it a limb, id say that its more like a freaking tree trunk. God is an unusual God!

I know I am all over the place once again hehe. anywaysssssssssss! I am home for fall break! whoooo!! so nice being at home with the parents. we are grilling out tonight and they are dying for me to blog about it!

Hey wonderful people! oh my goodness- yall are all SO ENCOURAGING! the sweetest people ever, i adore each and every one of you!! PS- I reply to all of your comments. I am not sure if you get an email or not? I read every single comment and respond to them! Yall are AWESOME.

Lately Ive been learning a lot (whats new?! I guess I have a lot to learn. actually- i KNOW I have a lot to learn!) and ive been thinking about insecurities. Usually we know our insecurities, we know they are there, but how often do we truly FACE them!? The Lord has helped me FACE my insecurities lately and getting down to the very root of them. Yeah, its not easy and its not fun either.. but we are going to continue to produce dysfunctional branches from the same insecurity if we dont get down to the ROOT of them! we can chop the branches off all we want, but they will always grow back. Yeah, they may not always look the same.. BUT they have the same root!! So anyway, its so crazy how God loves us so much that He wants to DIG into our “mess” and get it out of us. Who else would want to do that? So I encourage you all to really FACE your insecurities, ask God what the root is, and ask Him to dig it out of you. Dont be surprised if He wants you to get a little uncomfortable!! Nobody ever said it was going to be easy, but the freedom around the corner is SO worth it!!

I am home for the first time since August- I am so excited to RELAX!! This is much needed down time. Love you all!!

Being Free

Hey loves! Oh geez- so sorry I have gone MIA once again! I have been SO busy at school/applying for jobs/dabbling in the grown up world. I still dont even know what I want to do with my life! Haha! Ive also been chilling with the working out, the Lord was telling me to take it EASY last week and this week. Theres no need to go balls to the walls all the time! I dont think God made our bodies to be pushed too hard. God is basically “chilling” my heart and making me step back and realize whats truly important. Oh man, I love how He pursues us relentlessly!

My dad also did a half iron man on Sunday, the same one Meghann did! I AM SO PROUD OF HIM!! He had a calf injury and ran the entire 13 miles on his HEELS!! and still finished under 6 hours. hes a freaking stud.

Thats about all! God has already won the victory. He has saved us already, and we sometimes forget that!! We need to stop focusing on sin/what we are doing wrong and feed the spirit. Feed the Spirit and the sin will starve!

CARBS CARBS CARBS

…Sometimes I feel like carbs dont get enough credit!! They are delicious and SO GOOD FOR US! Hello, energy!! Ive tried the whole fruits and veggies thing as my sole source of carbs along w. protein and fat, and it made no difference besides the fact that I had less energy. I see too many blogs that only eat fruits and veggies as carbs- thats cool if thats what floats your boat but seriously eat a peice of bread! Here are my fav carbs as of lately-

Oatmeal (DUH)

sunflower seed butter+strawberry jam+chia seed oats!

1/2 cup oats cooked in 1/2 cup egg whites, 1 cup van almond milk, 1.5ish cups water, chia gel, stevia, toffee extract, topped w. skippy natural+syrup+sea salt!

Oats in a BIG ole container! chocolate coconut with PB and chocolate chips on top!

Bread

TJS soft whole wheat bread with white chocolate wonderful.. SO GOOD!

Egg and sausage sandwich on white bread

The really sweet people over at Udi’s send me some awesome bread, bagels, and granola when I told them I was doing this post!!! Their bread ROCKS and is gluten free- double score!! A great way to get your healthy carbs in!

Quinoa

quinoa flakes w. laughing cow, turkey bacon, hummus, fried egg, salt, pepper

red quinoa cooked in chicken broth w. fried egg!

Dinner one night at the beach. 2 chicken burger things with a fried egg, quinoa with some bean/corn mixture my nana made! It was so good! topped w. feta

Wraps/Pitas

pita pizzas! turkey bacon, onions, peppers, ricotta cheese!

Enchildas!! (recipe on a previous post!)

Just a whole wheat wrap with warmed goat cheese+strawberry jam. YUM!

Popcorn

mid night snack!! (but really- had this at like 1 AM, my bedtime needs to be earlier!) mixed peanut flour and coconut flour with maple syrup and salt, then drizzled it on!

Honestly I think the whole “no carbs right before bedtime” is a bunch of BS seeing as how I eat popcorn every night before bed!!

A group of about 10 of us went to Blueberry Frog the other day- I got original with cinnamon toast crunch and mango!

Thats all!! I am about to go enjoy my weekend. Tomorrow is a day filled with tailgating and FOOTBALL and socializing! I am so so excited!! Life is so good over here, like ive said earlier, God continues to blow my mind with His Spirit overflowing onto everything. YALL, life with Him is AMAZING!! He shows you so much. He wants to take you on a WILD adventure. I can finally say I am at a place of 100% security and that is something that cant be shaken.. it gives me so much peace and joy! I hope you all had a wonderful week, LOVE YOU GUYS! Praying for yall every day.

Hey loves!!! How was your weekend?! Mine was fan-freakin-tastic! Its that time of year again..FOOTBALL SEASON!! My parents set up a huge tailgate every home game (they LOVE doing it!!!) and my friends come by and we eat delicious food and socialize!

The usual night time snack- kettle corn with peanut flour!

Sweet tater fries w. melted white cheddar!

protein powder mixed with 1 egg, yogurt, baking powder,, stevia, baked at 350 for about 10-15 min! topped w. maple syrup

Just an example of how MASSIVE my shakes are at night, haha! My roomate goes "umm are you REALLY eating all of that?!" um heck YES. my fav combo as of late is 1 scoop chocolate casein (i use ON all natural!), 1 cup vanilla almond milk, 1 cup water, handful of salted peanuts, a few scoops of peanut flour, a little peice of a frozen naner, cottage cheese, 1 frozen dannon light n fit vanilla yogurt, cocoa powder, stevia, guar gum, ICE!
