Background on Faith, Food, & Fitness!
FAITH
My faith is extremely important to me. It is my strong foundation for everything I’ve been through and everything I will go through. God is my rock, and has never let go of me during the toughest times of my life. He is my strength when I am weak. I deserve nothing & He has blessed me more than I could have ever imagined. I have a supportive family, encouraging friends Dont get me wrong, my life is NOT perfect and nor will I ever be..but my life is stable when Jesus is in the picture..He has taught me to depend on Him and He will truly get us through anything we go through on this earth. I know one day I’ll see Him face to face & every single hurt, pain, struggle, or sadness will FADE away and we will be free from any bondage from this earth!!
FOOD
gah, I love food. I have ALWAYS loved food. My family’s dinner table discussions always involve food. I look at food as a creative outlet to explore and try new things and to be adventurous. Some of my favs include peanut butter from peanut butter&co (all flavas).. Im obsessed with Mighty Maple but cant find it ANYWHERE around here anymore! I also love Blue Diamond Honey Almond Butter, Oatmeal (breakfast staple), Egg Beaters, Cheddar Cheese (Crackle Barrel kind), Garlic n Herb Laughing Cow, Joseph’s Lavash Wraps, Kettle Korn, Fuji & Honey Crisp Apples, Any type of Veggies (Squash=FAV), Popchips (Salt n Vinegar), Dove Dark Chocolate, COFFEEEEEEEEE!, & when Im feeling bad-Diet Mtn Dew. These are a few of my favs, I pretty much eat these things every day. I’ve finally gotten to the point where If I’m craving something, I’ll go out and get it! Sometimes I get into a food rut but that’s when I try to break out of my habitual food routine, because I’m a major creature of habit. I tried the vegetarian lifestyle for a little bit, but that’s not for me. I gota have my animal protein (im sorry vegetarians).. but I TOTALLY respect vegetarians & vegans! I think it’s awesome!
FITNESS
Working out! One of my favorite things to do. When I was in the 5th grade, my dad made me run a mile in under 8 minutes before I could start working out with a personal trainer, because he wanted to make sure I was dedicated. I also played tennis and soccer. Tennis was my passion so I played for ten years but got wayyy burnt out so I decided to take up competitive cheerleading and loved it. Now I’m in college and enjoy working out when I want to and how I want to. I would probably still work out even if it didnt affect your body, because it just makes me feel so good. Where I go to school it is so beautiful for running, especially when it’s fall and the leaves are all different colors, absolutely beautiful!. I try to take one rest day a week, I am naturally an active person so it is hard for me to rest. My body likes me better when I stay off of it for a day! especially my legs.

i loved learning more about you! i agree – working out makes me feel so much better! you said you like to run outside when you’re at school… what school do you go to?
I go to Clemson University! (in SC). it’s kind of near the mountains, so that’s why it is so pretty.
I don’t remember if I’ve ever commented on your blog, but I have been following it for a few months and I LOVE it! I’m a senior in high school and I recently decided I’m going to Clemson University! I’m actually from a suburb outside of Chicago, so it will be a big change but I’m really excited!! Thank you for having such a positive attitude on your blog and your faith inspires me!

You are seriously my twin!!! I love food more than anything… but exercise rivals my food love constantly! ha ha!
hi! i love your blog and receive so much strength and inspiration from your words. i am currently recovering from an e.d. and wanted to know how you gained the weight back in a healthy way that did not result in a gain of all fat? did you, at one point, have to completely cut out exercise from your life? how did you deal (emotionally) with the weight gain? i would love your advice! thank you so much…you are so wonderful!
I really admire your faith, but do you ever question it? I mean all the things you have great family, friends, boyfriend I have too and do not believe in God. The bible says God made the earth and Man, but there’s scientific fact that is not so. There’s no mention of dinosaurs, incest is a sin, yet if we were all created from Adam and Eve we are all related and all sinners. And if this God is real what about all the other Gods and religions? Who’s God should we believe in? I honestly think if you hadn’t have been raised in a religious family you probably wouldn’t be religious yourself.
I see you’re not interested in answering my questions, bit of a toughie for you is it, struck a cord have I, can’t find any proof or evidance of “God” except for a book, which lets face it could be written my Enid Blyton for all you know. This just proves to me their really is no God you can’t answer the in depth questions.
Bonnie-
Sorry to butt in. But I know, speaking as a Christ follower, that I don’t always feel comfortable discussing heavy faith issues via an online forum. It can be difficult to explain something that can’t be seen within an email or something. A lot of the questions you have are valid and do need answers, but even as a Christian I don’t know all the answers. For me the answer is in the personal relationship I have with Christ and what that brings to my life. Maybe ktbwood feels the same?
A few books that I would maybe recommend would be
A Case for Christ/Faith- Lee Strobel
Letters from a Skeptic-Dr. Gregory A. Boyd
That is, if you are interested in finding answers to your questions. But I wouldn’t assume from her non-response that God doesn’t exist.
I hope this helps!

Great work
Hi just found out your blog and I like the way you are enjoying food and fitness altogether and your faith. I’m still trying to try to eat whatever I like without worrying too much.
I love how you have such a strong foundation with the Lord. I always read your blog posts to see if you have written anything encouraging. I just accepted Jesus into my life a couple months ago and reading your posts make me even more excited for my new relationship with God. Have you ever done the self study Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby? I just started it and it’s amazing! The girl that helped me accept Jesus into my life just finished it. Kelly has been a Christian her whole life and she said it took her on a much deeper level with God. She said it changed her life! It’s the revised and expanded version. Here’s a link if you are interested. I highly recommend it!

Hi! LOVE your description of faith. I am going through my own spiritual journey with chronic illness (just got out of the hospital), and reading your take on it has touched me. Thank you!
P.S. You are beautiful!
I’m the same as you are: I love and truly respect the idea of a vegetarian or even vegan lifestyle, but I can’t do it (I’ve tried …) if I want to be and stay healthy. So I’ll go on having my chicen and seafood … Nice to meet you!

I stumbled across your blog and love it. Inspiring and awesome and I think we have alot in common, although I am a Gamecock alumn and you are a Tiger
I have always had my faith and was raised in church but looking back, I don’t think I ever had a real relationship with Christ until a few years ago, and it’s been the most incredible journey with God as my new BFF
… I must say as much fun as I had in college, I wish I would have given more time to God, like you do! Keep it up, sista!

Loving your blog…
Do you mind sending me the “recipe” for the “peanut flour” topping that you sprinkle over your popcorn? I think I remember that you mixed the peanut flour with other things that made a liquid. Then you poured it over and let it harden before you finished off the popcorn.
Let me know.
Thanks.
ka
Yes! Its just peanut flour, cocoa powder, nooch, stevia, salt, and a little almond milk to thin it out!
Hi! I just stumbled across your site here. I’m a sophomore in college, avid food blog reader/blogger, and runner. God’s been showing me how to live the fullest life more each day. I’m so happy you have combined 3 of my favorite things into one blog
