…Sometimes I feel like carbs dont get enough credit!! They are delicious and SO GOOD FOR US! Hello, energy!! Ive tried the whole fruits and veggies thing as my sole source of carbs along w. protein and fat, and it made no difference besides the fact that I had less energy. I see too many blogs that only eat fruits and veggies as carbs- thats cool if thats what floats your boat but seriously eat a peice of bread! Here are my fav carbs as of lately-

Oatmeal (DUH)

sunflower seed butter+strawberry jam+chia seed oats!

1/2 cup oats cooked in 1/2 cup egg whites, 1 cup van almond milk, 1.5ish cups water, chia gel, stevia, toffee extract, topped w. skippy natural+syrup+sea salt!

Oats in a BIG ole container! chocolate coconut with PB and chocolate chips on top!

Bread

TJS soft whole wheat bread with white chocolate wonderful.. SO GOOD!

Egg and sausage sandwich on white bread

The really sweet people over at Udi’s send me some awesome bread, bagels, and granola when I told them I was doing this post!!! Their bread ROCKS and is gluten free- double score!! A great way to get your healthy carbs in!

Quinoa

quinoa flakes w. laughing cow, turkey bacon, hummus, fried egg, salt, pepper

red quinoa cooked in chicken broth w. fried egg!

Dinner one night at the beach. 2 chicken burger things with a fried egg, quinoa with some bean/corn mixture my nana made! It was so good! topped w. feta

Wraps/Pitas

pita pizzas! turkey bacon, onions, peppers, ricotta cheese!

Enchildas!! (recipe on a previous post!)

Just a whole wheat wrap with warmed goat cheese+strawberry jam. YUM!

Popcorn

mid night snack!! (but really- had this at like 1 AM, my bedtime needs to be earlier!) mixed peanut flour and coconut flour with maple syrup and salt, then drizzled it on!

Honestly I think the whole “no carbs right before bedtime” is a bunch of BS seeing as how I eat popcorn every night before bed!!

FROYO (is this considered a carb?!) either way..its love

A group of about 10 of us went to Blueberry Frog the other day- I got original with cinnamon toast crunch and mango!

Thats all!! I am about to go enjoy my weekend. Tomorrow is a day filled with tailgating and FOOTBALL and socializing! I am so so excited!! Life is so good over here, like ive said earlier, God continues to blow my mind with His Spirit overflowing onto everything. YALL, life with Him is AMAZING!! He shows you so much. He wants to take you on a WILD adventure.  I can finally say I am at a place of 100% security and that is something that cant be shaken.. it gives me so much peace and joy! I hope you all had a wonderful week, LOVE YOU GUYS! Praying for yall every day.

    I LOVE CARBS!! They are totally my fave thing in the world, and I could NOT live on a low carb diet or something! Haha I would DIE! :P My fave carb is definitely oatmeal. And dates! :)

    This weekend…hanging with friends!! We’re going out for some an Indian Food Fest. I want some poppadoms STAT ;)

    And I LOVE that last bit!! The more I depend on God and develop my relationship with him, the more peace and joy I have too! LOVE IT AND LOVE YOU!! <3

    Wahh. I love carbs seriously. I can’t get enough bahaha. I think my favorite are pancakes. Does that count? Well yes of course. But french toast is so good too. . Anyways carbs are the best macro ever. Enough said.

    I eat toast or cereal every morning and they keep me going, going, going. I’ve tried the no-carb thing and had no-energy. Blech. Have a good weekend!

    I’ve got to say that I love carbs, and as I recover, I become less and less afraid of them. They certainly serve as a vehicle for some other yummy things like yogurt, nut butter and hummus!!
    This weekend I’m probably packing more for going abroad. The more I do now, the less I have to freak out when it’s tomorrow!

    Wow, that froyo is incredibly tall! My favorite carbs are oat bran, oat meal, cereal, and crackers!

    I loved what you said about security in God. I’ve learnt a lot this summer about clinging to God alone! The sentence that hit me the most was when you said “God is seriously MORE than enough. and that is something that cant be shaken”!! THANKS FOR SHARING :)

    Udi’s bread is SO good! It always makes the perfect size for mini pb&j sammies :D And that froyo?! Girrrll you know the way into my heart YUM!

    Yes to carbs!!! It’s about all I eat!! My favorites are pancakes, oatmeal, bread, and spaghetti. Ice cream is my ultimate fav !! Glad you posted. I wish you had more time to post more. Your uplifting words and praise for Jesus leaves me happy and craving more. I know sometimes i’ll read your post and tink, I need to spend some quite time with God. Everytime I read a post it makes me hungry….good stuff!!! :)

    It makes me sad that carbs get such a bad rap, because I love them and couldn’t imagine ever going without them again. Oatmeal, cereal, cookies, muffins, toast… I don’t think I’ve ever come across a carb that I don’t like :D

    Ditto to being sad that carbs get a bad rep — people will eat absolute crap, but they’ll avoid a whole grain.

    Great post! Carbs rock, and you totally need them for energy! Props to those who can get them from fruits and veggies, but I seriously LOVE bread and need bread for energy and to feel human! My favorite carbs are pancakes or a hearty piece of bread with some butter!

    I am also tailgating and footballing it this weekend with friends! Should be fun! Have a good one! Also, love your blurb at the end, God ROCKS!

    Preach it sista carbs are my FAVORITE. I think I could survive for a while without fruits and veggies, but if you take away my bread and oats it would kill me!

    I love all the carbs you mentioned and eat them on a regular basis.

    I tried cutting back on my carbs recently and that totally DID NOT work for me. I felt sluggish, tired and hungry pretty much all the time – lesson learned.

    Oatmeal and bread all the way!!!

    “but seriously go eat a piece of bread” haha i love the way you just break it down for people :) Ill admit, i love the way my body looks when im not eating a ton of carbs but ill never give up froyo!! Plus if you eat carbs before bed, why cant i?? I am beyond ready for the game tomorrow!!! Football season is the best :) I love your enthusiasm for God and everything he does! It makes me want the same relationship with him as you have!!

    Since I was diagnosed with an allergy to wheat, carbs have been harder for me to knock out :( But still, that doesn’t stop me from loading up on the brown rice ;)

    hahah YAY CARBS! the underrated group. I cant stand when people tell me to cut back on carbs. like, first of all, I work out like a fiend and walk everywhere- I NEED my energy! and 2nd of all, I would never give up carbs!!! too yummy :)
    my fav carb is bread definitely. Warm bread, french toast, bread with butter, englihs muffins, regular muffins… hahha anything of the sort and Im down ;)

    this weekend? no fun for me. going home for the weekend to do errands and work. blah!

    i am in love with carbs at the moment and actually was thinking about it last night how i eat SO much of them. i had cereal for breakfast, oatmeal for lunch and a panini for dinner. hello carb central!! but i just love them. haha. and i eat them before bed too. oops.

    weekend plans are clean clean clean. yay how fun. haha. oh yea. and the Colts game. GO COLTS! <3333

    I’m doing the whole football thing today as well =)

    i LOOOVE oats! and if we count fro yo as a carb that’s a hands down winner. carbs are seriously so delicious. and easy access. whenever i feel sick i run to some carbs to help a sista out!

    Carbs are the best! I can never eat a meal that doesn’t have at least one grain product in it. Eating just veggies + protein doesn’t fill me up at all. :P

    My favourite carbs are oatmeal and any kind of bread!

    Amen! I can’t stand it when I hear people talking badly about carbs. My grandmother is always trying Atkins this or low-carb that and it drives me nuts!! Carbs are my bestest friend :)

    YAY carbs!! You’re so right–they get a bad wrap in blog world. If I don’t include carbs (and we’re talking grains–not just fruit and veggies!) in my meals, I’m usually hungry again within 30 minutes of eating! And then I just end up snacking on chocolate or candy to make up for it. Need my meat AND potatoes! ;-p

    I’ve been thinking about buying quinoa flakes…Do you recommend them? And yes, I think froyo counts as a carb…probably the MOST DELICIOUS carb ever. :-D

    Love this and love YOU! My weekend has been just a bit carbalicious with the discovery of a new sort of wrap in a local store – I’m a total bread/wrap and oats girl – not fussed about the rest ;) . Glad you’ve had a fun weekend and loving all your eats as usual!!!

    Favorites…cereal, PIZZA, wraps…to name a few! I’ve done the low carb thing once before and I was a total zombie. My body loves the carbs!

    now that I make my bread at home, I have NO problems getting my carbs in!! two slices for breakfast, and one as a snack. And thats just bread!! Carbs are my friend :)

    hey beautiful!! Hope God continues blessing your life in huge ways. Loveee the looks of so many carbs, they’re such a delicious thing, aren’t they? I hate that they are one of the first things to leave a person’s life when they go on a diet. It’s a HUGE shame!

    My all-time favorites are: oats (o’ COURSE!), brown rice (kills me so good!) and quinoa. And, you can never leave out all the good-for-ya carbs in fruit. It’s just so dang wonderful.

    Amen to that Katie! So easy to just go on a day without having our full focus on Him, but then He’s still so gracious and continues to woo our hearts, huh? :)

    And I do love carbs, so much! Although protein is almost like its sibling to me, love-wise. :D I love bread as carbs the most! Great harvest bread, korean pastries, Rudi’s spelt english muffins!! so many haha…

    Girl this post made me so happy. It makes me so sad when people shy away from carbs – they are the BEST source of fuel! I love oat bran best, but also oatmeal, quinoa, barley, multigrain bagels, brown rice and french toast! mmm

    I love my carbs! My favorite carbs are oatmeal, pasta, and crusty bread. I’ve tried Quinoa once in my life. The recipe wasn’t good and I didn’t cook it right or something and it turned into mush and also tasted pretty gross. I was disappointed because it has amazing stats & everyone seems to love it. Maybe I’ll give on of the concoctions you’ve got here a try! :)
