…Sometimes I feel like carbs dont get enough credit!! They are delicious and SO GOOD FOR US! Hello, energy!! Ive tried the whole fruits and veggies thing as my sole source of carbs along w. protein and fat, and it made no difference besides the fact that I had less energy. I see too many blogs that only eat fruits and veggies as carbs- thats cool if thats what floats your boat but seriously eat a peice of bread! Here are my fav carbs as of lately-
Oatmeal (DUH)

1/2 cup oats cooked in 1/2 cup egg whites, 1 cup van almond milk, 1.5ish cups water, chia gel, stevia, toffee extract, topped w. skippy natural+syrup+sea salt!
Bread
The really sweet people over at Udi’s send me some awesome bread, bagels, and granola when I told them I was doing this post!!! Their bread ROCKS and is gluten free- double score!! A great way to get your healthy carbs in!
Quinoa

Dinner one night at the beach. 2 chicken burger things with a fried egg, quinoa with some bean/corn mixture my nana made! It was so good! topped w. feta
Wraps/Pitas
Popcorn

mid night snack!! (but really- had this at like 1 AM, my bedtime needs to be earlier!) mixed peanut flour and coconut flour with maple syrup and salt, then drizzled it on!
Honestly I think the whole “no carbs right before bedtime” is a bunch of BS seeing as how I eat popcorn every night before bed!!
FROYO (is this considered a carb?!) either way..its love

A group of about 10 of us went to Blueberry Frog the other day- I got original with cinnamon toast crunch and mango!
Thats all!! I am about to go enjoy my weekend. Tomorrow is a day filled with tailgating and FOOTBALL and socializing! I am so so excited!! Life is so good over here, like ive said earlier, God continues to blow my mind with His Spirit overflowing onto everything. YALL, life with Him is AMAZING!! He shows you so much. He wants to take you on a WILD adventure. I can finally say I am at a place of 100% security and that is something that cant be shaken.. it gives me so much peace and joy! I hope you all had a wonderful week, LOVE YOU GUYS! Praying for yall every day.

I LOVE CARBS!! They are totally my fave thing in the world, and I could NOT live on a low carb diet or something! Haha I would DIE!
My fave carb is definitely oatmeal. And dates!
This weekend…hanging with friends!! We’re going out for some an Indian Food Fest. I want some poppadoms STAT

Wahh. I love carbs seriously. I can’t get enough bahaha. I think my favorite are pancakes. Does that count? Well yes of course. But french toast is so good too. . Anyways carbs are the best macro ever. Enough said.

I’ve got to say that I love carbs, and as I recover, I become less and less afraid of them. They certainly serve as a vehicle for some other yummy things like yogurt, nut butter and hummus!!
This weekend I’m probably packing more for going abroad. The more I do now, the less I have to freak out when it’s tomorrow!
Wow, that froyo is incredibly tall! My favorite carbs are oat bran, oat meal, cereal, and crackers!
I loved what you said about security in God. I’ve learnt a lot this summer about clinging to God alone! The sentence that hit me the most was when you said “God is seriously MORE than enough. and that is something that cant be shaken”!! THANKS FOR SHARING

It makes me sad that carbs get such a bad rap, because I love them and couldn’t imagine ever going without them again. Oatmeal, cereal, cookies, muffins, toast… I don’t think I’ve ever come across a carb that I don’t like

Great post! Carbs rock, and you totally need them for energy! Props to those who can get them from fruits and veggies, but I seriously LOVE bread and need bread for energy and to feel human! My favorite carbs are pancakes or a hearty piece of bread with some butter!

Preach it sista carbs are my FAVORITE. I think I could survive for a while without fruits and veggies, but if you take away my bread and oats it would kill me!

I love all the carbs you mentioned and eat them on a regular basis.
I tried cutting back on my carbs recently and that totally DID NOT work for me. I felt sluggish, tired and hungry pretty much all the time – lesson learned.

Since I was diagnosed with an allergy to wheat, carbs have been harder for me to knock out

i am in love with carbs at the moment and actually was thinking about it last night how i eat SO much of them. i had cereal for breakfast, oatmeal for lunch and a panini for dinner. hello carb central!! but i just love them. haha. and i eat them before bed too. oops.

Carbs are the best! I can never eat a meal that doesn’t have at least one grain product in it. Eating just veggies + protein doesn’t fill me up at all.

Amen! I can’t stand it when I hear people talking badly about carbs. My grandmother is always trying Atkins this or low-carb that and it drives me nuts!! Carbs are my bestest friend

YAY carbs!! You’re so right–they get a bad wrap in blog world. If I don’t include carbs (and we’re talking grains–not just fruit and veggies!) in my meals, I’m usually hungry again within 30 minutes of eating! And then I just end up snacking on chocolate or candy to make up for it. Need my meat AND potatoes! ;-p
I’ve been thinking about buying quinoa flakes…Do you recommend them? And yes, I think froyo counts as a carb…probably the MOST DELICIOUS carb ever.

My all-time favorites are: oats (o’ COURSE!), brown rice (kills me so good!) and quinoa. And, you can never leave out all the good-for-ya carbs in fruit. It’s just so dang wonderful.

I love my carbs! My favorite carbs are oatmeal, pasta, and crusty bread. I’ve tried Quinoa once in my life. The recipe wasn’t good and I didn’t cook it right or something and it turned into mush and also tasted pretty gross. I was disappointed because it has amazing stats & everyone seems to love it. Maybe I’ll give on of the concoctions you’ve got here a try!
